How to find your Google Maps share link

It takes about 20 seconds. Pick the device you are on. If you get stuck, just type your business name and city instead, like Smith Plumbing, Marietta GA.

On your phone (Google Maps app)

  1. 1Open the Google Maps app and search for your business name.
  2. 2Tap your business to open its listing (the one with your photos and reviews).
  3. 3Swipe the row of buttons under your name (Directions, Call, Save…) and tap Share.
  4. 4Tap Copy link. It looks like https://maps.app.goo.gl/AbC123.
  5. 5Come back here, press and hold the box above, tap Paste, then Grade my profile.

On a computer

  1. 1Go to google.com/maps and search for your business name.
  2. 2Click your business so its listing opens on the left side of the screen.
  3. 3Click the Share button (under your business name, next to Directions and Save).
  4. 4Click Copy link.
  5. 5Paste it in the box above (Ctrl+V, or ⌘+V on a Mac) and click Grade my profile.

Shortcut: once your listing is open, you can also copy the whole web address from your browser's address bar and paste that in.

Tip: Make sure you copied your business listing, not a map of your street or a set of search results. If your business does not show up on Google Maps at all, that is the first thing to fix. We can help with that.

Paste the Share link for your business from Google Maps. It usually starts with https://maps.app.goo.gl/. You can also paste the full Google Maps address bar link, or just type your business name and city, like "Smith Plumbing, Marietta GA".

What does the GBP grader check?

It pulls your public Google Maps listing and compares it with the top three nearby businesses in your category. It scores review count, star rating, primary and extra categories, photos, hours, your website link and tracking, your phone number, and whether that phone number matches your website.
